EDITORIAL

 Congratulations to all the competitors who had success over the Christmas run of rodeos down south and also a huge congratulations and thank you to the committees of all the rodeos that run over the Christmas, New Year break. Your efforts and hard work are greatly appreciated not only by the competing members but also spectators and local communities that the benefit of professional rodeo brings to the economy of rural towns Australia wide.

It was great to see Martin and his crew of Big Screens Australia covering rodeos over the Christmas run ensuring that every spectator got double the value of their gate fee by replaying all the action as it unfolded. This coverage is one of the stepping stones that we, the Association can use to lift the level of Professional Rodeo in Australia to take it to a greater audience world wide to showcase we have the talent of superior athletes, stock and professionalism that is worthy of marketing and sponsorship potential!

Soon we will have a new website up and running. More photos, videos and information will be updated every week. Today's world revolves around real time information and with most people carrying a phone with web access, information can be found at the press of a button.

In saying that, we as an Association of members that love the sport of professional rodeo need to be cautious of the use of social media. "PAUSE BEFORE YOU POST" is a simple way of just considering the outcomes of your actions.

On a more exciting note the FINALS are coming ahead in leaps and bounds! If you thought last year was good don’t miss them this year because we are striving for bigger and better!

I've also had the pleasure of securing an international sponsor for awards of timed event horses of the year. I believe these athletes deserve every bit of recognition as the cowboys and cowgirls they carry to the pay window every weekend.
