QUEENSLANDERS HEAD TO VICTORIA

ERROL Frain and John McNamee will head the riders from Central and South
Queensland for the first rodeo of the Christmas Run in the Australian
Professional Rodeo Association.
Frain, who hails from Yeppoon, currently is the runaway leader in steer
wrestling in the APRA and has nominated for rodeos on the first weekend of
the Christmas Run.
The first of seven rodeos on the Christmas Run are at Myrtleford in Victoria
on Boxing Day and Carrieton in South Australia on December 27.
Millmerran cowboy John McNamee will be one of the saddle bronc favourites at
Myrtleford along with current APRA title holder Brad Pierce from Tooma in
New South Wales.
Warwick rider Lane Grayson enjoyed saddle bronc success at the Mt Isa Rodeo
this year and will compete in the early Christmas Run rodeos along with
fellow Warwick cowboy Peel Tribe.
Some of the Queensland riders competing at Myrtleford and Carrieton are
expected to head home for the Alton Downs Double Dip, two separate rodeos on
two days on the property Lazy Acres on December 31-January 1.
Strong nominations are expected for the first full rodeos at the new complex
at Lazy Acres, 15 minutes drive west of Rockhampton.

Carrieton (SA); December 31-January 1 – Alton Downs Double Dip (Qld);
January 1 – Tumbarumba 71st Rodeo (NSW); January 2 – Yarrawonga (Vic);
January 8 – Finley (NSW); January 9 – Beechworth (Vic) and Carrick Bull Ride
and Rodeo Spectacular (Tas).
