Rodeos at Narrandera (NSW), Powranna (Tas), Whittlesea (Vic) and Millmerran (Qld) on Saturday.

 

THERE are a total of 558 nominations for rodeos in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland this weekend.

All Australian Professional Rodeo Association members have plenty of competition options in the final two months of the season with 26 rodeos in five states in two months.

The biggest blocks of rodeo will be three on the Victorian long weekend in March and four at Easter in Victoria and four on the Easter long weekend in Queensland.

Many competitors will be aiming to compete in at least 10 rodeos during the two months to boost their chances of qualification for the National Finals later this year.

The top 15 in each of the eight APRA championships will qualify for the championships.

On Saturday, there are 150 nominations for a rodeo at Narrandera in New South Wales, including Peter Moffatt of Milawa (VIC) in the saddle bronc

The Whittlesea Rodeo in Victoria has attracted 127 nominations. Two of the riders to watch are Wagga Wagga (NSW) bull rider Sean Lynch and barrel racer Cherie O’Donoghue of Lockington (VIC)

There are 115 nominations for the Powranna Bull Ride and Rodeo in Tasmania led by barrel racer Karen Fish Jnr of Oatlands (TAS).

Warwick (QLD) saddle bronc riders Mark Collins and Michael Maher will be ones to watch at Millmerran rodeo in Queensland.
