TASMANIAN cowgirl Danielle Marshall has stamped herself as a cowgirl of the future after winning round 3 of breakaway roping at the Australian Professional Rodeo Association National Finals at the Warwick Rodeo.
Marshall was the only Tasmanian rider who travelled to the National Finals in Queensland and she made the trip worthwhile with a win in round 3 on the Saturday night at the Finals.
She won in a time of 4.05 seconds.
Marshall is a dental nurse from Natone in Tasmania who was competing in the National Finals for the first time.
After some APRA rodeo action in recent months in Tasmania, there will be a break until the next pro rodeo on January 14 when there is a rodeo and bull ride at Carrick.
The Ulverstone Twilight Rodeo will be on January 28.
Many Tasmanian competitors are set to head across Bass Strait to the southern states for the Christmas Run of six rodeos starting at Myrtleford (Vic) on Boxing Day and ending at Beechworth (Vic) on January 7. Three of the Christmas Run rodeos are in Victoria, two in New South Wales and one in South Australia.
