Bull riders eye of Penrith event

SOME of the best bull riders in the nation will be in action at the Jamison Hotel, Penrith, on Saturday (Feb 6) as Australian Professional Rodeo Association action moves into the western suburbs of Sydney.

Gill Brothers from Upper Horton in New South Wales are supplying the bulls for the XXXX  Gold Xtreme Bulls night from 7pm.

There will be 34 bulls riders in Penrith for the event including current APRA champion Troy Wilkinson from Upper Horton  who rode time on three of his four bulls to win the Australian Championship in the APRA last year. Wilkinson has drawn the  bull Special Force.

Tim Amey will be another rider from the New England area of New South Wales lining up at Penrith.

Wagga Wagga rider Sean Lynch is one of the young guns of the sport and will compete along with Sam Champ from Meldale, just north of Brisbane, one of the APRA cowboys who hail from the metropolitan area.

Jared Borghero has drawn the bull Kings Cross and will need to use his knowledge as a rider and bull fighter to make an eight-second ride. Borghero is originally from Beaudesert in Queensland and now lives in Central Queensland.

Like so many cowboys competing on Saturday night at Penrith, distance is no object when chasing an adrenaline rush from an extreme sport and the top prizemoney
