EDITORIAL
I would like to thank all the people who have allowed me the opportunity to become the Breakaway Roping Director and to give back to the sport what it has given me over the years.
As this role is new to me, there will be a lot to learn for me being on the other side of the fence. Working closely with my fellow competitors, directors and rodeo committees I want to do whatever it takes to make our event and sport the best it can possibly be.
There are always hurdles to jump over in our sport and we need to stick together as one to make sure we look after any issues that may arise. Over the last few years there have been a lot changes made, I believe this is a good thing and we can only move forward.
It was great to see all the breakaway ropers conduct themselves with a high level of competition over the Christmas run and the Triangular Series.
Congratulations to Veronica Luxford and Terry Evison for winning the Triangular Series Titles. I would also like to say a huge thankyou to all the committees and contractors for all their efforts.
Please call or come talk to me with any issues you may have and l will do my best to represent you. At the end of this month I’m off to the states for six weeks, when I get home we will be running a 10 head jackpot after Beaudesert Rodeo.
Hopefully I will be organising some Horsemanship schools as well as combining these things can only help make our event.
Yours in Rodeo,
Kerry Turner
Breakaway Roping Director
