Pine Grove (Victoria) rider Terry Evison has a lead of $36 in prizemoney from Charters Towers cowboy Darcy Kersh. Emerald pair Campbell Hodson and Shane Kenny, and Victoria and former Queensland rider Lee Kimber make up the top five.
Current APRA titleholder Mitch Eastwell, of Warwick, is 10th in the standings.
Hodson hails from Emerald and is on top of the standings in team roping header.
His regular teammate Liam Davison is first in team roping heeler standings.
Half way through the APRA season, Victorian pair Terry Evison and Elley Hulls head the standings in the Australian Professional Rodeo Association.
They have the chance to increase their leads on the Easter weekend when they are 2000 nominations for the 11 rodeos in the eastern states.
After the first six months of the season, Evison, of Pine Grove, leads the all around cowboy, rope and tie and steer wrestling standings and is second in team roping header standings.
Hulls hails from Leongatha in Victoria and is first in the all around and barrel race and eighth in breakaway roping.
The action starts in the south on Good Friday with the Great Western Rodeo in Victoria.
There are two Good Friday events  in Queensland, the Xtreme Bulls at Roma and the Destiny Downs Timed Event Fiesta at Emerald.
Riders have had to choose between the five events in Queensland, four in Victoria and two in New South Wales.
With so many rodeos at Easter, there is a strong chance there could be changes in the leader board.
In rough stock events, the standings leaders are New South Wales pair Tom Kerr (saddle bronc) and Jason O’Hearn (bull ride).
South Australian ironman Tom Willoughby is first in the bareback bronc ride standings. Willoughby is the only cowboy in the APRA to compete in five events.
In cowgirl events, four Victorians are on top of the all around standings, Hulls, Julie Breed, Cherie O’Donoghue and Amber Burns.
Queensland rider Ellysa Kenny is in fifth place.
The top 15 in each event will qualify for the APRA National Finals later this year.
Each rider will take their season prizemoney into the finals so the riders at the top of the standings have the inside running in the battle for titles at the national finals.
