CURTAINS CLOSING ON JUNIOR SEASON
As the curtains close on the 2023 Junior season, there has been many stellar performances that have had us sitting on the edge of our seats to see who the Pro Tour champions would be. Without further ado, it is our pleasure to present to you the number 1 money earners in their chosen events and the newly crowned Junior Pro Tour Champions of 2023.
Layney Deguara, the Nebo cowgirl is the freshly crowned Pro Tour Junior Highpoint Cowgirl of 2023. Layney travelled near and far for her last year in the Junior competition, she is most grateful for her dad helping her get everywhere she chose to go. Layney also would like to express her gratitude to Glen and Candice Perkins for going above and beyond for her so she could compete in NSW and VIC. Layney’s main barrel racing steed was her mum’s good breakaway horse, Layney and Speedy definitely will give it their all for their last time at the Junior Finals.
Jayden Kenny of Emerald which happens to be the home of the Junior National Finals, has proved once again why he deserves to be at the top of the field. He won the 2023 Junior Highpoint Cowboy with earnings of over $32,000 which was over $10,000 ahead of his nearest competition. This money included big wins he acquired in the open events as well as the junior events. He accredited much of his success to his great horsepower, his strong work ethic and his mentors pushing him to become better.
Buckle up and hold onto your hats when the Junior National Finals hits Emerald in June, it’s going to be a showstopper!
